OEE calculation definition columns

Because each OEE calculation definition is assigned to a piece of equipment, the piece of equipment specified by the Namespace and Name columns must already exist in the model before importing an OEE calculation definition CSV file.

Column

Description

Namespace

This is a required property.

This is the namespace for the piece of equipment this OEE calculation definition applies to.

Name

This is a required property.

This is the name of the piece of equipment.

The piece of equipment that is being specified by the Namespace and Name properties must already exist in the model. Equipment is defined by importing equipment CSV model files.

Default Rate

This is a required property.

This is the default quantity of items being produced on this piece of equipment. When starting a production run, this value is entered by default as the Ideal Rate - Quantity on the Start a Production Run dialog. The value can be overwritten by a user.

Entries must be positive numbers. Decimal values are rounded to two decimal points.

Default Rate UOM

This is a required property.

This is the unit of measure (UOM) for the default production rate. When starting a production run, this value is entered by default as the Ideal Rate - Unit of Measure on the Start a Production Run dialog. The value can be overwritten by a user.

Entries can include alphanumeric and special characters. While there is no length limitation to this entry, concise entries will display better on production pages.

Default Rate Time

This is a required property.

This is the default amount of time that is required to produce the default rate quantity of items on this piece of equipment. When starting a production run, this value is entered by default as the Ideal Rate - Time on the Start a Production Run dialog. A different value can be selected by a user.

Valid entries are:

  • per second

  • per minute

  • per hour

Target Availability, Target Quality, Target Performance, Target OEE columns

This is a required property.

This is the target setpoints for KPI OEE, Performance, Performance, and Quality for the equipment. These values are used to set the color of the KPI measures at the top of the Equipment Efficiency page:

  • If the target value has not been met, the measure color will be red.

  • If the target value has been met, the measure color will be green.

See Tour the Equipment Efficiency page.

Values must be greater than 0 and can be up to 100. Decimal values are rounded to two decimal points.

Start Utilization Reason

This is an optional property.

If a valid utilization reason is provided in this column, this is the utilization reason that is added to the utilization event when a production run is started.

Note: If this column is empty or the entry is not valid, the current utilization event will continue when a production run is started.

End Utilization Reason

This is an optional property.

If a valid utilization reason is provided in this column, this the the utilization reason that is added to the utilization event when a production run is completed.

Note: If this column is empty or the entry is not valid, the current utilization event will continue when a production run is completed.

How OEE calculation definitions are uniquely identified

An OEE calculation definition is uniquely identified by the combination of its Namespace and Name entries, which specify the piece of equipment to which it applies.

For example, the following combinations identify OEE calculation definitions for two different pieces of equipment:

  • Namespace=Houston Plant, Name=Roaster

  • Namespace=Dallas Plant, Name=Roaster
