How you define "location" for your team depends on how your business functions. Location can be defined by geography, functional group, or any other system that suits your team. (See more examples here.)

For example, at SnacksBox Corporation, there are five departments.

Each of the departments generates a unique set of data tags.

Tags from the Miami Shipping department are assigned this location:

SnacksBox/Miami/Shipping
Each department manager creates a monthly report using the tags generated by his or her department.

The manager of the Miami Shipping department is also assigned this location:

SnacksBox/Miami/Shipping
Each regional manager creates reports for all departments operating in that region.

The Los Angeles regional manager is assigned this location:

SnacksBox/LosAngeles

Note: All locations are also considered assets within the location/asset hierarchy. As such, they can be tracked on the Asset page.
