Create a new asset type

You can create an asset type from the asset type list.

To add an asset type from the asset type list

Select the add icon above the asset type list to open the Add side sheet, then provide a Name and Description for your asset type.

The name cannot exceed 200 characters, and the description cannot exceed 512 characters.

Note: TwinThread has a 50 character limit for the name and 200 character limit for the description. When a TwinThread model is saved to an asset type, TwinThread creates a twin class linked to the asset type. If your asset type name exceeds these limits, TwinThread will populate the name of the corresponding twin class with the first 50 characters of the asset type name and the first 200 characters of the asset type description. Once finished, select either:

• Save to create the asset type.

• Save and Add Properties to create the asset type and proceed to add properties.

To view your asset type, select it from the asset type list.
