Industrial graphics uploaded to CONNECT from on-premises applications, such as AVEVA InTouch, can be used in the AVEVA Insight Graphic Composer.

Note that not all namespaces available for use in on-premises industrial graphics are applicable for use in AVEVA Insight. For a list of allowed namespaces, see Allowed namespaces for industrial graphics scripts used in Insight.

To use Industrial Graphics from CONNECT

  1. From AVEVA Insight, open your saved graphic.

  2. In the upper-right, select to open Graphic Composer.

  3. Select on the Toolbox icon to open your CONNECT Shared Drive.

The CONNECT Shared Drive will open.

Expand or collapse folders and subfolders using the arrows to the left of the folder name.

  4. Add an industrial graphic by selecting and dragging the graphic from the file pane onto the canvas.

  5. Select the placed industrial graphic, then select to make other changes:

    • Select Order to move it in front of or behind other objects in the graphic.

    • Select Remove to remove the industrial graphic.

    • Select Properties to modify the properties of the industrial graphic, including the Name and Custom Properties.

Availability of Custom Properties can vary between graphics. Certain properties can be mapped directly to AVEVA Insight tag data:

You can use a static Value and bind it to a tag.

Once the value is bound to a tag, select beside the value and choose the preferred metadata you want from AVEVA Insight, such as max values or units. This in turn can be used to auto-configure a gauge, for example.

To remove the binding, select on the value.

AVEVA Insight can also notify you if an invalid value is entered for a property, as seen in the following image:

In the upper-right, select to save your work.
