The Production Events tab

  1. Current production run status of the selected equipment

Production runs are either Started (active) or Completed.

Select the Start and Complete The Start and Complete buttons buttons to start or complete a production run. See Start a production run and Complete a production run.

The Production Run buttons and status appear if OEE calculations have been enabled for the selected piece of equipment and there is at least one production disposition reason defined in the efficiency model. Your administrator is responsible for enabling OEE calculations and adding production disposition reasons.

Note: If a production run duration is more than a week, the count of production units is not displayed.

  2. Production run analysis data for the active production run

This section always displays information about the active production run. Changing the time range to shift or previous production run does not change the data shown in this section.

The times shown here are in your local time.

    • Planned Quantity is the planned number of produced items for this production run.

    • Ideal Rate is the ideal production rate for a production run. The ideal rate defines the ideal or target speed at which the machine should produce product (for example, 20 cases/per hour, 300 bottles/per minute).

    • Planned Duration is the estimated duration of the run based on the planned quantity being produced.

    • Planned Completion is the estimated time of the production run completion based on the start time and the planned duration.

    • Time/Count Bar shows the actual production, both good and waste.

The Ideal Target marker indicates how much production should have occurred at the current time based on the ideal production rate and the equipment's total Runtime since the run was started (equipment Downtime and Idle time is excluded).

The Theoretical Target marker takes Downtime into account. It indicates how much production should have occurred at the current time based on the ideal production rate and the equipment's total Runtime + Downtime since the run was started (equipment Idle time is excluded).

The time data at the start and end of the bar show when the run started and the estimated completion time, based on the actual production rate and the amount of production required to meet the planned quantity.

    • Actual Production Rate is the production rate based on the actual production that has been entered divided by the total time the equipment has been in the running state. This information includes the percent difference between the actual and target rates.

    • Actual Run Duration is the total elapsed time since the start of the production run.

  3. Good and waste production counts status and add production buttons for the selected production run (active or previous)

To add production, select the Good Production or Waste Production button.

  4. Good and waste production reason charts for the selected production run (active or previous)

The counts for the good and waste production disposition reasons.

  5. Available time periods for displayed data

If a shift has been assigned to the equipment location for the current day and time, select between:

    • Shift to show data for the current shift only.

    • –Run (previous run) to show data for the entire previous (last completed) run.

    • Run (active run) to show data for the entire active run.

If the active production run is longer than the current shift, switching to show only shift information will update the OEE KPI calculations, the good/waste production counts, and the good/waste production reason charts. The text will change from for active run to for current shift. The production run analysis section will continue to display information about the entire production run.

If the entire active run is within the same time period of the current shift, the data that is shown will not be affected by switching between active run and current shift. This is because the maximum amount of data shown in this page is for the active run.

If a shift has not been assigned for the current day and time, only Previous Run and Active Run are available.

Truncation of Data for Production Runs Over a Week

If a production run duration is more than a week:

  • The count of production units under the Start and Complete buttons is not displayed

  • The timeline is shortened to 7 days.

  • The Actual Run Duration stays at 7 days.

  • The estimated completion date is hidden.

  • The good and waste production reason charts show only the last 7 days and include text that states in this period instead of for Active Run, for Previous Run, or for Current Shift.

The truncation is indicated by the The Truncation icon icon next to each displayed time period indication.

To see results for the entire production run, use the OEE analysis charts. For how to drill down to see production run details for a piece of equipment, see View OEE analysis details for a piece of equipment or production line. For how to group detailed data by OEE data properties related to the run, such as a work order ID, see Work with the details grid.
