Define conditions

On the Conditions page you define the specific conditions that will trigger the alert.

To define conditions

  1. Select an Asset from the drop-down if you want to create the alert for a specific asset.

If you are an administrator or a standard user with access to all assets, this field is optional.

If you are a standard user with access to specific assets, you must select one of the assets you can access.

If you accessed the alert configurator from the Asset page, the asset for which the alert is being created is automatically populated in the Asset field.

  2. Select the Tag field, then select the tag you want to add.

You can use the filter option to reduce the number of tags you see.

  3. In the Condition field, choose an operator (Less than, Equal to, etc.) for this tag.

If you select a zone tag, that is a tag where the trigger value falls inside or outside a specific value range, there will be two additional operators available:

    • Exits its configure zone

    • Enters its configured zone.

  4. Define a Value for this alert condition.

The default is the last known value of the tag, displayed in the tag's base unit of measure (UOM).

If you selected one of the following operators, a second Value field displays so you can define a value range.

  5. Select Add Condition to add another tag.

You can have a maximum of 50 conditions, and every condition must be unique.

Once you select more than one tag, specify what triggers an alert:

    • All: When all the defined conditions occur

    • Any: When at least one (any) occurs

Note: This option does not appear if there is only one tag in the list.

      Adding another condition

  6. Once you have added all your tags, select Next or Alert Actions to continue to the Alert Actions step.
