Description

Name

This is a required property.

This is the unique name for the utilization reason.

Entries can include alphanumeric and special characters. There is no length limitation.

Description

This is an optional property.

This is a description of the utilization reason. It is used for reference when managing the efficiency model. It doesn't otherwise appear in AVEVA Insight.

Entries can include alphanumeric and special characters. There is no length limitation.

Automation Value

This is a required property.

This is the tag value from an automation device that is associated with this reason.

When a piece of equipment that is integrated with an automation device changes to a different operating state, the automation device provides a tag value to the system. When the system creates the related event, it assigns the reason that is mapped to the supplied tag value.

The system always checks to see if the tag value maps to an automation value override for the piece of equipment. If it does, the corresponding utilization reason is used. If it doesn't, the standard utilization reason to which the value is mapped is used.

An automation value can be a positive or negative integer. It must be unique among all utilization reasons.

Equipment State

This is a required property.

This is the equipment state that is associated with this utilization reason. Multiple reasons can be associated with the same equipment state.

The equipment state entered here must already exist in the efficiency model.

Reason Group Assignment

This is an optional property.

This is a list of the names of the reason groups to assign to the reason. Separate reason group names by a semi‑colon (;).

The reason groups entered here must already exist in the efficiency model.

If the reason is not assigned to a reason group, it will appear at the top level of the Select a Reason control when a user is selecting a reason for a utilization event.
