Publish InTouch tags to the product

Before you can access data from your InTouch application, you must publish the application to AVEVA Insight as a data source using AVEVA Insight Publisher. For information about operating system and product compatibility, see the product support page for Publisher.

See Tag naming conventions to ensure that your InTouch tag names are supported by AVEVA Insight before proceeding.

To publish your InTouch application

1. Open InTouch. You can open it on your own computer or via Remote Desktop.

2. Run AVEVA Insight Publisher.

   Tip: In Windows, if you don't have a shortcut set up, you can select All Programs, select Wonderware, select AVEVA Insight Publisher, and then select AVEVA Insight Publisher.

3. Select Publish.

4. On the Region page, select the region where the majority of your users work.

5. If your internet access requires a proxy, on the Web Proxy Configuration page, specify a URL and port. For example:

   

   By default, Publisher displays user-level the proxy settings associated with your account. Change these as needed to service-level settings so data can be sent to AVEVA Insight.

6. Select Continue.

7. If prompted, sign in to AVEVA Insight Publisher.

   Note: You use your same login credentials (email address and password) for AVEVA Insight, Publisher, and AVEVA Insight mobile app.

8. Type a name for your application. This will be the name of the data source in AVEVA Insight.

9. Follow the on-screen instructions to finish creating the data source in AVEVA Insight and start publishing your data.

   Notes: If you have any connectivity issues between InTouch and AVEVA Insight, contact your IT Support department for assistance.
   
   It can sometimes take up to 15 minutes for the published application (and corresponding data source) to appear in AVEVA Insight.
