Saving a source model to the asset only after previously having it associated with an asset type definition

An administrator has the following:

  • An asset type associated with two or more assets.

  • All assets have tags mapped to asset type properties.

  • A Guided Analytics source model associated with the asset type.

  • Instantiated models synchronized to all associated assets.

An administrator then:

  1. Performs an edit to the source model, including renaming the model and/or modifying the model configuration.

  2. Saves the changes back to the asset only.

These conditions result in:

  • All instantiated models are deleted across all associated assets.

    • Saving a source model to an asset only breaks the link between the model and the previously associated asset type. Because the model is no longer associated with the asset type, instantiated models are removed from associated assets.
