After you've configured the gateway between the OPC server and AVEVA Insight Publisher, you can create a list of tags to send to AVEVA Insight. Publisher supports XLSX and XLS file formats.
You can also use this process for data coming from other OI servers or using a protocol different than OPC.
Note: For backward compatibility, XML format is also supported.
To create a list of tags to send to AVEVA Insight
-
From the Start menu, under Wonderware, select AVEVA Insight Publisher Sample.
-
When it opens in Microsoft Excel, save the file with a new name that reflects your application.
-
Add tag details to the spreadsheet. For more information what to include in each column, see Configuration tag reference for OPC data sources.
-
For these columns, use values that correspond to the server's gateway configuration:
-
computerName - This is the node name of the computer running the OPC server.
-
applicationName - This is the name of the application supplying data. The application name can include the name of the computer on which the application is running.
-
topicName - This is an application-specific subgroup of data elements.
See the table below for examples:
-
-
Save the file.
