Create an access token for AVEVA Insight using AVEVA Connect

To use AVEVA Insight in kiosk mode, you must first create an access token in AVEVA Connect.

For detailed information about access tokens, refer to Use Access Tokens in the AVEVA Connect documentation.

Tip: Although not required, creating the access token on the workstation you want to use in kiosk mode makes set up easier.

To create an access token for AVEVA Insight

  1. In AVEVA Connect, select Integrations, Access Tokens, then Create access token.

  2. Enter a description for the access token.

  3. Select the date that the token should expire.

  4. From the Access Token Configuration list, select Advanced.

  5. Select Service access token.

  6. From the Service list, select Insight.

  7. From the Folder list, select the folder in which AVEVA Insight is enabled.

  8. In the Roles box, select Viewer.

    Important: You must select Viewer for the token to work.

    When you select Viewer, you have the option to specify what assets the user can view.

  9. Select the assets you want the user to be able to access in AVEVA Insight.

  10. Select Create.

  11. Once the token is created, select Copy to clipboard.

  12. Save the token securely.

  13. Using the following format, create a URL that you can share to open AVEVA Insight in kiosk mode.

    https://insight.connect.aveva.com/framework?kioskToken=<access token>

    Use the alternate instance, EU or AU, as appropriate for your location.

  14. In a secure manner, share the URL with the individual responsible for setting up the device running AVEVA Insight.
