You can use AVEVA Insight Publisher to publish tags from an OPC server to AVEVA Insight.
Note: For related information, see Publisher prerequisites.
To publish tags from an OPC server
-
Run Historian Publisher.
(If you don't have it installed, download Publisher and then run it.)
-
Select the Import option.
-
Specify the file containing the tag list you created.
-
On the Region page, select the region where the majority of your users work.
-
If your internet access requires a proxy, on the Web Proxy Configuration page, specify a URL and port. For example:

By default, Publisher displays user-level the proxy settings associated with your account. Change these as needed to service-level settings so data can be sent to AVEVA Insight.
-
Select Continue.
-
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.
Note: If a validation error occurs, correct the issue in the XML file as described by Publisher. Then try again to publish the tags.
Tips for on handing import errors
-
Make sure you have all required elements. See the Configuration tag reference for OPC data sources.
-
Make sure that any elements requiring specific values are formatted correctly. Double-check spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and so on.
-
In most cases, reported errors will include the line number where the error first occurred. (Note that the same error may occur multiple times, but only the first occurrence is listed. Check for duplicates.)
The line number shown corresponds to the line number in the XML file, not the row in the spreadsheet.
Correct the error in that line, and then check for duplicate errors later in the file. Correct them all before trying to publish again.
