The Outlier menu item identifies and filters the outliers (based on Z score) of current period data by comparing them to historical periods. By default, the historical period is 6 days prior to current period.
Validate outliers

Select the DeBug menu.

On the DeBug menu, in the DeBug group, select Outlier.

Select Yes.
The Debug Information dialog opens.
The Outliers data loads with the streams deviation data of the past 6 days prior to the current period.
Deviation = If Compensated Value is selected and Compensated Value is greater than Zero then
Deviation = Reconciled value – Compensated Value
Else
Deviation = Reconciled value – Measured Value
Note You can change to any period prior to the current period by specifying Start Date and End Date and clicking the Check button.

The Outliers table calculates the Standard deviation, Mean, and Z score for the loaded data.

When the current period and historical period data are loaded, enter the Historical Period Z score filter value.

Select Check to delete the streams deviation which have a Z score higher than the user defined Historical period Z score.

After the Outliers are filtered in the historical period, the Standard deviation, Mean, and Z scores are recalculated.

Enter the Current Period filter value to display the current period stream’s deviation that have a Z score higher than the user defined current period Z score filter value.

Double click on Current period Z score column to sort the Current period Z score values in ascending or descending order.

Notes

Historical Period and Current Period Z score’s filters will not accept characters and are restricted to three (3) decimal points only.

Streams that have Standard Deviation greater than ( > 1) are shown only in the Validate Outliers table.
About the Z score

Current Period Z score filter is used to display current period stream’s deviation that have a Z score higher than the user defined Current period Z score filter value.

Historical Period Z score is used to identify and filter the streams that have a higher deviation in the historical period. In other words, delete the stream’s deviation that have a Z score more than historical Z score.
Show formula for Z score

Select the information icon in the Z Score box.

The Z score formula information window appears.

Select OK to proceed.
