If the operating condition is different from the design condition for any given flow measurement, volume correction (or compensation) calculation is needed to correct for this difference. Detail calculation procedure is described in section Flow Compensation.
User can select the standard base temperature for VCF (Volume Correction Factor) calculation AVEVA Production Accounting in is 60 F or 15 C by the engineering unit of temperature.
Example
For example, if the engineering unit of temperature is C and the conditions of the tank are as follows:
-
Gross Volume(m3) at actual condition : 71,237.268 m3
-
Density value(kg/m3) at 15 C : 875.7 kg/m3
-
Actual temperature : 21.7 C
-
Commodity of the tank : Crude Oil
The standard volume at the previous version is calculated as 70,886.305 m3 by assuming the standard base temperature is 60 F.
But new version is calculated as 70,854.522 m3 by assuming the standard base temperature is 15 C as shown below.

Material type
The VCF calculation is also dependent on the material type of the product. User can select the material type of the product on the Product tab of Options dialog box.
The following three material types are supported in VCF calculation.
-
Crude
-
Refined Products
-
Lube
