Protect

Selecting the Protect menu item enables and disables Protect mode. Protect mode locks the flowsheet objects so the layout cannot be accidentally changed while you work with the model. This is useful for users who usually have sufficient authority to work with models, but who do not currently wish to do so.

Protect Mode is enabled only for the user who has write privilege to the active model and this setting is saved in the database.

When Protect Mode is enabled, the menu item appears checked as shown in the image below and remains that way until you uncheck it.

AVEVA Production Accounting stores this setting in the Windows registry so that the setting will remain in effect. Even if you close the model, close AVEVA Production Accounting and then open AVEVA Production Accounting and that model again, the Protect setting will be restored from the last saved Windows registry setting. The saved setting applies to all users on a given workstation computer.

If you do not have write privilege to the active model, the Protect Model is disabled.

The following procedure describes how to enable/disable Protect mode:

1. Select the View menu.

2. On the View menu, select Protect.

   The Protect mode for the model is enabled/disabled.
