Configure import tags for CDS

Add a tag as a measurement source to import measured value from the CDS interface

  1. Select the Tools menu.

  2. On the Tools menu, in the Edit Info group, select Tag.Info.

    The Edit Tag Information dialog appears.

  3. Right-click on No. and then select New to create a new tag.

  4. Configure the new tag with the following properties:

    • Name: Tag name used.

    • Type: Tag type. The different types of tag types are F (Flow rate), I (Inventory volume), T (Temperature), P (Pressure) and L (Laboratory).

    • Att: Tag attribute. D and O attribute types are not supported.

    • Interval: Time interval in minutes for obtaining data from RTDB. If the value is 0, it means the time interval taken to obtain data from RTDB is the same as the current period length.

    • Interface Name: Interface name. For example, if you select the CDS interface name, the tag value is obtained from the CONNECT Data Services (CDS) server.

    • Tag Name: The actual tag name used in CDS.

    • Eng. Unit: Engineering unit in CDS.

    • Default Value: Average or default measurement value of the tag. Default value can be used when the measurement point has no value in CDS.

  5. Select OK.

  6. On the drawing window, double -click 01FC087 stream.

    The stream detail dialog appears.

  7. Select Design Info tab.

  8. Select the Tag Name drop-down list.

  9. On the drop-down list, select the newly created tag.

  10. Select OK.

    The tag is added as a measurement source for the stream to import measured value from the CDS interface.

Configure the import tag to import the measured value from CDS interface

  1. Select the Tools menu.

  2. On the Tools menu, in the Edit Info group, select Tag.Info.

    The Edit Tag Information dialog appears.

  3. Right click on No. and select Import.

    You can also copy and paste bulk CDS tags in the Edit Tag Information dialog.

    The tags marked in green are used by DR models and the tags marked in white are registered but not used by any DR model.

  4. Configure the import tags as required.

  5. Select OK.

    Verify if the import tag is registered

    1. On the Design Info tab of the stream dialog, select the Edit Flow Tag button next to the Tag Name.

      If the tag is registered, the tag selected by default in the the Edit Tag Information dialog.

      • To change the stream tag, select another tag in the Edit Tag Information dialog and select OK.

        • Select OK.

        The tag of the stream is changed to the newly selected tag.

      Additional information

      AVEVA Production Accounting can interface with various types of RTDB tag such as Flow rate, Inventory, Temperature, Pressure, and Laboratory where CDS tag values are used to provide values.

      Limitations

      The following are not supported for importing data from CDS:

      • Tag type F,T,P, and L with tag attribute combinations of D and O are not supported for importing tag value from CDS.

      • Performance equation is not supported in CDS.
