Database

On the Database pane, you can configure the settings of your database.

The following procedure describes how to configure the database:

1. Open the AVEVA Production Accounting Excel Add-In Server Management tool.

2. On the Database pane, from the Provider list, select the type of assembly to connect between the AVEVA Production Accounting Excel Add-In Server and your database.

   • For MS-SQL Server, System.Data.SqlClient.

   • For Oracle Database, System.Data.OracleClient.

   • For Oracle Database using Oracle native provider, Oracle.DataAccess.Client.

3. On the Database pane, in the Server text box, specify the server name for the AVEVA Production Accounting Excel Add-In Server.

   • For MS-SQL, type <address> or <address>\<instanceName>.

   • For Oracle, type the tns name that is registered in tnsnames.ora.

4. If you selected System.Data.SqlClient as the Provider, in the Database text box, specify the Database Name that you are going to use.

5. Optional: On the Database pane, select the Integrated Security check box.

   Note: If you select the check box, the current Windows account credentials are used for authentication and the log in text boxes are disabled. If you clear the check box, you must type a User ID and Password.

6. If the Integrated Security check box is not selected:

   1. In the User ID text box, specify the Database Login Name.

   2. In the Password and Password Confirm text boxes, type a password to set for your User ID.

7. Optional: If you want to test the connection, on the Database pane, click Test.

   If the connection is successful, the Successful message will appear, and you can save the configuration.

   If the connection is unsuccessful, check the configuration.

8. Click Save.
