AVEVA™ Production Accounting

Component tab

This section describes properties on the Component tab of the Options dialog box.

Components

The Component tab allows you to define each single component name, such as CH4 (methane) or C2H6 (ethane). AVEVA Production Accounting provides the main component list as a default.

Component_tab(1)

You can add new components, and components that match existing components, as long as they are entered with a unique component name, essentially creating synonyms.

For example, if you use three component codes for benzene, namely A_C6, Ben and BZ, you would add these three component codes in the component list table. The Heating Value of a component can be used in converting gas volume into FOE volume.

Properties

  • Chemical Name: The Chemical Name is used to calculate the enthalpy value of a stream if Component Enthalpy is selected in the Design Operation tab. The user has to define the chemical name for each component name that is used in the model. This step must be done before selecting Component Enthalpy.

  • Carbon Fraction: Carbon fractions are calculated for the selected chemicals and displayed. Use the following formula to calculate Carbon Fraction.

Carbon Fraction = ((No. of Carbons in the component) *12.011)/Molecular weight of Component

  • In Use: If In Use checkbox is unchecked, this component is only registered, but is not used in the models.

Change component names

You can change the component name for each component table name using Change Component Name for All Tables.

Define AVEVA Thermodynamics component

AVEVA Production Accounting supports the chemical components from Thermodynamics Library.

Note: Existing components in AVEVA Production Accounting will have no impact, additionally all pure components in Thermodynamics library are supported in AVEVA Production Accounting.

For more information, refer to Configuring Components from Thermodynamics Library.
