Settings for Oracle

AVEVA Production Accounting interfaces with an Oracle database as AVEVA Production Accounting network database by using an OLE-DB oracle provider.

Types of data providers

These are the types of OLE-DB oracle provider available if ORACLE client program (32-bit) is installed.

• MSDAORA.1 - Microsoft OLE DB Provider for Oracle. Microsoft provides this data provider.

• OraOLEDB.Oracle.1 - Oracle Provider for OLE DB, which Oracle provides. This data provider is much faster than MSDAORA.1 and MSDAORA.1 does not support Oracle Version 12 and above.

This data provider is available without ORACLE client program installed.

• Devart Oracle provider - This is an Azure Devops Dot.NET provider to support Azure databases and other databases.

You can recognize which provider is used in the text box beside the Build Connection String button.

MSDAORA.1 provider

OraOLEDB.Oracle.1 provider

If OraOLEDB.Oracle.1 is available, AVEVA Production Accounting automatically changes the Oracle provider from MSDAORA.1 to OraOLEDB.Oracle.1.

Devart provider

A new provider is available to connect to Oracle database, which is the Devart Oracle provider.This provider doesn't require the client installation. Users can choose the OraOLEDB provider or Devart Oracle provider while building the connection string.
