Protect

An administrator user can protect a closed period using the Protect menu for the selected period.

If an administrator user of AVEVA Production Accounting closes the period, systematic jobs such as importing data, running tracking and data reconciliation, exporting data are protected for the closed period and so the event data for this period shall not be changed by the systematic jobs.

The event data change by the manual jobs such as manual data input shall also be protected by this closed period protection.

However, the event data can be changed from the changes of the design data such as the changes of flow rate equation to meet the data consistency but the event data change by the manual jobs shall be protected.

The following procedure describes how to protect a selected period of a flowsheet:

1. Select the Period menu.

2. On the Period menu, select Protect.

   The selected period of the flowsheet is protected as follows:

   • If a regular user tries to perform the systematic jobs for the closed period with protection, the following message shows up and the systematic jobs will not proceed.

     

   • If a user manually changes the event data, the following message shows up and the manual input jobs will be protected.
