AVEVA Production Accounting is installed like most Windows programs such that the AVEVA Production Accounting program group is created under the Programs (or All Programs) item in the Start menu.
Open the application with customized shortcuts
AVEVA Production Accounting is sensitive to command line arguments and is designed to be run from customized shortcuts which you can create. The arguments specify which user preference (INI) file is to be opened, which in turn can be used to designate which model should be opened.
Ultimately, a user can choose to have several shortcuts defined to open different models. The INI file(s) can be stored on a network share to facilitate the use of common shortcuts among several users. Alternatively, you can choose to utilize separate INI files for each user, so that the preferences that are saved to the file are unique to each user.

Open the application with no argument
When invoked with no arguments, AVEVA Production Accounting defaults to opening C:\Users\(User Name)\AppData\Roaming\AVEVA\AVEVAProductionAccounting\PFD.INI, which opens the test model distributed with AVEVA Production Accounting. You can modify the .INI file to open another model.
In the default INI file (PFD.INI) the default database is Test.mdb (MSAccess database located in %AppData\Roaming\AVEVA\AVEVAProductionAccounting\Model) so that one of the models in the database will be opened.
Use command line parameters
You can use command line parameters to tell AVEVA Production Accounting to open a different INI file, which may specify a different database and model. Changes made in Tools > Option dialog box are saved in the same INI file used to open AVEVA Production Accounting.
Parameters
You can specify the following three parameters for AVEVAProductionAccounting.exe:
-
Mode: If the parameter is ON, the AVEVAProductionAccounting.exe will automatically execute. See Automatic Execution for more details. If the parameter is not "ON", AVEVA Production Accounting launches with an associated model, as specified in the IniFile parameter.
-
Date: Use this parameter to specify the date as the current period. The format of this parameter is YYYYMMDD (for example 20080901). If this parameter is blank, the date which is defined in the INI File is used.
-
IniFile: Use this parameter to specify the INI file to use instead of the default INI file.
C:\Users\(User Name)\AppData\Roaming\AVEVA\AVEVAProductionAccounting\Model\PFD.INI.
Start the application from command line
-
Default FS can be launched from command line by specifying the full exe path. C:\Program Files (x86)\AVEVA\AVEVAProductionAccounting2024\AVEVAProductionAccounting2024.exe.
-
Alternatively, specific models can be launched by adding the parameters as specified in the above sections.
Login restriction
If the application is set to network database, the Model Users login credentials window appears when the application launches. In the Model Users window, enter valid credentials to login successfully to the application. If you enter incorrect credentials, the login window allows you two more attempts before it locks you out.
The Access Denied pop-up message is displayed with each unsuccessful login attempt.

If you enter invalid credentials again on the fourth attempt, the Account Locked pop-up message appears and the login window is locked for five minutes.

You can attempt to login again after the login window is unlocked.
