Configure AVEVA Production Accounting – Web remote website

In order to access AVEVA Production Accounting – Web from a machine where the application is not hosted, you need to configure the SSL certificate for the website.
The following procedure describes how to download and import the SSL certificate to access AVEVA Production Accounting – Web:

Open a browser.

In the URL, enter https:// <hostname>:8084 and press Enter.

Select Not secure.
A pop-up window appears.

Select Certificate details.
The Certificate Viewer dialog appears.

Select the Details tab.

Select Export.
The certificate is downloaded in your device.

Select the Windows Start menu.

In the Search box, enter certmgr and press Enter.
The certIm certificate manager dialog appears.

In the Certificates - Local Computer section, under the Personal folder, select Certificates.

In the Certificates folder, right-click on a blank space.

On the right-click menu, select All Tasks.

Select Import....
The Certificate Import Wizard dialog appears.

In the Certificate Import Wizard, select Next.

Select Browse to browse and select the downloaded certificate in your system.

Select Next.
-
Select Browse... and select the Personal folder.

Select Next.
-
Select Finish.
The certificate is imported to the folder.

Repeat steps 9 to 18 step in the Certificates folder under Trusted Root Certificate Authority.
The certificate is imported to the folder.

Close and re-open the browser.

In the URL, enter https:// <hostname>:8084 and press Enter.
The website appears and you are prompted to enter your credentials.

Enter your credentials and login to the website.
You can now start using the website.
Troubleshooting
If you are unable to login, download the certificate again from https://<hostname >:8080/swagger/index and install.
If the certificate has expired, perform one of the following steps:

Run the APA – Web Configurator on the device where the website is installed and issue a new certificate. Repeat the certificate installing steps and retry login.

Remove any certificate with the name APAWeb from the Personal and Trusted Root Certificate Authorities folders in the certificate manager. Sometimes an invalid or expired certificate gets picked up which causes this issue.

Clear the browser cache and browsing history and relaunch the browser.
After removal of the expired certificate and installation of the latest one, run the APA – Web Configurator again.
