Create new events using Select Period

The following procedure describes how to create new events by selecting a new period:

  1. Perform on of the following actions:

    • Double-click on any blank part of the canvas.

    • Select the Select Period button on the standard toolbar.

    • On the Period menu, select Select Period.

    • Select the Status Bar to open the Select Start and End Data Time dialog box.

  2. Select the desired period and then click the OK button.

    You can see that a new event for each object is created automatically. Creating a new event for a stream makes the color of the stream blue. This color is set in the Format > Properties menu.

    You can see the current period is changed from

    to

    on the Status Bar’s Time Panel.

  3. Input the various measured values for the new current period as shown below.

  4. After you input all event data into the stream and tank objects on the new period, run data reconciliation again.

    The flowsheet will show the new results and you can compare them with the previous period.

    You can verify that the static data are applied to the new events from the following facts:

    • The FT002 stream is still fixed since the relative tolerance % was changed to zero.

    • The streams FT008, FT009 and FT006 are once again shown as measured streams, since they are still defined as measured in their static properties. You only changed the event data for the last period to be unmeasured.

    • FT003 is not detected as a gross error since you defined it as not a gross error in its static data properties.

  5. If you select the previous period 40.Prev_Period, the flowsheet is automatically changed to show the previous event data.
