Define the static data for each stream

The following procedure describes how to define static data for each stream in the flowsheet:
-
Double-click the first stream object to bring up the details dialog box.
Change the name of the stream object, and then select the Show Information checkbox on the Information tab. This displays an information label for each stream object on the flowsheet.

-
Click OK to close the dialog box and see the result.

-
Repeat the steps for the rest of the stream objects until all stream objects have been renamed.

Specify streams as measured or unmeasured
Part of the static data for balance objects and streams is a yes/no value, or flag, represented by a checkbox that says whether the flow is measured. The effect of performing data reconciliation differs for measured versus unmeasured streams. Reconciliation calculates the flow rate of an unmeasured stream, but it corrects (reconciles) the flow rate of a measured stream.
Note In this tutorial example, rather than drawing data from a plant historian via an interface with tags, we are entering the numeric flow values by hand. Entering data manually does not mean that the values are unmeasured. They may be measured values that are entered by hand. Therefore, most of the streams in this example will be marked as measured.
Since we are planning to use values that were theoretically measured in our example plant for most of the streams in this tutorial example, we would set most of the streams to be measured. Let us assume that streams FL001 and FL002 are not measured, so we want AVEVA Production Accounting to calculate the flow for those streams.
By default, the Measured checkbox starts out enabled for a new stream. When new events are created for the object, the event itself also contains a yes/no measured flag. If you allow the measured flag to default to remain enabled in the static data, each new event will also be considered to contain a measured value.
The following procedure describes how to specify a stream as unmeasured:
Since the FL001 and FL002 streams are unmeasured,
-
Double-click the stream objects for FL001 and FL002 and clear the Measured checkbox on the Design Info tab.

-
Click OK to save and close the dialog box.
When AVEVA Production Accounting makes new events for these streams, the flag in each event that indicates if the flow data in the event was measured or not will be inherited from the static data of the streams and therefore be "false" (that is, unmeasured).
Propagate the unmeasured flag
In the case where you already have existing events for the stream and you wish to not only change the static data but the flag value in each event, it is possible to do this.
For example, you may wish to mark all the events for the stream as unmeasured. In that case, after unchecking the Measured checkbox in the static data, you can press the command button next to the checkbox.
The following procedure describes how to apply the static unmeasured property to existing event data:
-
Press the command button next to the unselected Measured checkbox for FL001 and FL002 streams.

-
Click Yes to apply.
The event property is changed to "unmeasured' in the Results tab.
