Change period for less than a month

Select the Period menu.

On the Period menu, select Select.Period.
The Select Start and End DateTime dialog appears.

Perform either of the following:

Select Fixed Period checkbox.
Fixed Period specifies time period in hours, in multiples of a day. If you clear Fixed Period, you can select multiples of days.

Enter a Start DateTime and End DateTime.

Select OK
The period is changed and the flowsheet is updated to the selected period.
Change period for a month
Note: Only select Change Period Length by selecting Period checkbox if performing monthly balancing.

Select the Period menu.

On the Period menu, select Select.Period.
The Select Start and End DateTime dialog appears.

Select Change Period Length by selecting Period checkbox.

The Change Period Length by selecting Period option can only calculate and display the monthly period event data in the dialog. The event data in the flowsheet is not reflected and as a result, there is no event data for the stream, tank, process and node objects. The color of each stream also remains grey as shown in the following image. For the monthly period event data to reflect in the flowsheet, the Make New Events option also needs to be selected.

Select Make New Events to create the event data.

Select Yes.

The monthly event data is created and the stream colors change from grey to blue in the flowsheet.
For monthly balancing, it is recommended to select per as the Rate Unit in the Option dialog as shown in the following image. The data is saved and expressed as total quantity of the monthly period.

The PFD.INI file in the Application Data folder contains the setting for the Rate Unit. It is recommended that you create a different INI file such as PFD_MONTH.INI by copying the existing PFD.INI.
You can open AVEVA Production Accounting by using this PFD_MONTH.INI after changing the Run configuration of short cut into this:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\AVEVA\AVEVAProductionAccounting\AVEVAProductionAccounting.exe" ,,PFD_MONTH.INI
Common scenarios while selecting a period

Selecting future dates: If you select a future date, the following error message is displayed preventing you from selecting a future date.

Exiting the application without selecting the Fixed Period field: The option is enabled automatically before exiting AVEVA Production Accounting and is visible when the application is re-launched.

In such a scenario, AVEVA Production Accounting selects the Fixed Period checkbox when you exit the program. When AVEVA Production Accounting is re-opened you can see that Fixed Period is selected.
