Configure the interface source and the interface for PIWEBAPI

Configure the interface source

On the Interface Source tab, add a new interface source.

Enter the interface source name.

On the Source Type dropdown list, select PIWEBAPI.

Select ... next to Source Type.
The RTDB(Real Time Database) Connection dialog appears.

For authentication:

Provide User Name, and Password.
or

Check the check-box for Use WindowsNT integrated security.

Specify the Web Url of the PI Web API Restful service in the RTDB (Real Time Database) Connection window. For example https://localhost/piwebapi/.
The PI Archive Database is selected by default.

Select Test Connection to test the connectivity.
Connection to PI Web API Server is established if the color changes to green. After the connection is established, all the AF databases on the PI Server are listed in the dropdown.

Select a specific AF database to connect to the AF database.
Configure the interface
After you define the interface source, you can configure multiple interfaces associated with one interface source.

Go to Tools > Edit Interface Info. to display the Interface Information dialog and insert a new row.

Choose the IF Source Name as required (in this case PIWEBAPI).

Select the Mode as Export or Import as required.

Configure PI WEB API interface to import or export values from or to the PI Archive or AF database.
