Use Quantity Instead of Flow Rate in Stream Dialog

  • Last UpdatedNov 10, 2025

The Use Quantity Instead of Flow Rate in Stream Dialog setting affects the engineering units shown on the Results tab of stream objects in the detail dialog box for streams.

The engineering unit defaults to being a flow rate, expressed in quantity per unit of time. Using this check box, you can force the engineering unit shown to be a pure quantity (for example, ton) rather than a rate (for example, ton/day). This is useful when the stream’s flow consists of transactions rather than continuous flow.

The flow rate is 388,765.5 bbl/day in 2 hour 30 min., so the flow quantity is 40,496.510 bbl in a day.

With the setting changed, the flow quantity is displayed as 40,496.510 bbl total for the day.
