Data reconciliation benefits

AVEVA Production Accounting offers the following benefits:

• Offers a rigorous mathematical approach to data reconciliation that uses all available measurement data and takes full advantage of the power of measurement redundancy. Feedstocks and products, as well as components, can be tracked through each area of the plant. While the results produce useful information for the operators of all units in the plant, when receipts and shipments are included, AVEVA Production Accounting also produces accurate results that can be fed to ERP packages which place financial value on production and inventory.

• Performs mass and/or volume balances using raw measurements and other sources of data, for example, laboratory. The data reconciliation algorithm uses instrument characteristics and statistical techniques to flag measurement values that are missing or are evidently gross errors, and to automatically eliminate such problems before calculating the reconciled quantities.

• Performs data reconciliation on a unit-by-unit basis as well as plant-wide.

  • The unit-by-unit reconciliation is typically performed using mass and volume balances simultaneously. Using both balances allows engineers to correct their instrumentation data using the most statistically probable assumptions. This permits the engineers to improve the data quality used in process modeling and simulation as well as process control applications.

  • Plant-wide reconciliation is typically performed using mass and/or volume balances around individual or groups of process units, tanks, or shipment and receipt facilities. This provides yield accounting balances from inventory, production, receipts and shipments of products.

• Implements industry standards and combines a state-of-the-art user interface using process flow diagrams with a robust data reconciliation algorithm along with complete, event based data management/reconciliation and a user-friendly yield accounting application.

• Provides a variety of tools to reconcile the plant data more accurately and automatically in comparison with other data reconciliation software.
