These properties appear in the Detail Operation Info frame of the Design Operation tab.

  • Out of Service: This checkbox lets you define whether or not the object is out of service. When selected, it means this object is out of service. If you want to apply this setting to the event data, click the command button next to this checkbox.

  • Live Tank: Select whether this tank is live or not. If this tank is live, draining and filling operations can be simultaneous.

Note Automatic Movement Detection is only available for tanks which are not marked live.

  • Missing Flow Exist: Same as Process/Node object (see also Information Tab in Process/Node Object Detail).

  • PipeLine Tank: Set this tank object to Pipeline Tank or not. If this option is checked, the CMissing status never happens in that pipeline tank.

  • Event Detection from Tank Inventory: Permits selection of whether automatic event detection from this tank’s inventory change information is applied or not. This setting is only used when the Event Detection from Tank Inventory checkbox is checked on the Tracking tab of the Option dialog box.

  • Set Inventory Difference Stream to OS when Active

This setting is used in connection with a special type of unmeasured stream that you can create to capture the flow associated with changes in tank inventory that occur when the tank was idle (for example, has no measured in-flow or out-flow).

When a tank is idle, the incoming streams and the outgoing streams are marked as out of service (OS) by the reconciliation algorithm. This means that the change in inventory, if there is any, cannot be distributed to the incoming and outgoing streams and the tank will remain imbalanced. If you create an unmeasured tank inventory difference stream, AVEVA™ Production Accounting can distribute the inventory delta entirely to that one stream, making the difference easily visible to you and allowing the tank to be balanced.

However, when the tank is not idle, you typically do not wish to have any part of the imbalance of the tank distributed to the special inventory difference stream, because it can be distributed to the incoming and outgoing meters.

AVEVA™ Production Accounting provides two flags to control this behavior.

    • Global flag: On the Option dialog (Tool > Option menu item), there is a checkbox with the rather long but descriptive name Set Tank Inventory Difference Stream to Out of Service when Tank Active. Normally, you leave this checkbox checked so that AVEVA™ Production Accounting can detect when a tank was not idle during the period being balanced and force the unmeasured stream to be ignored.

    • Local (per tank) flag: This is the checkbox that is being described here, the Set Inventory Difference Stream to OS when Active checkbox under the Detail Operation Info frame of the Design Operation tab. This should usually also be selected if you have defined a tank inventory difference stream for this tank.

If both of the flags (global and per-tank) are checked and there is an unmeasured stream connected to the tank, that unmeasured stream’s out-of-service setting will be automatically set or cleared appropriately during reconciliation so that the tank inventory difference stream is used when the tank is idle but not when the tank is active.

The reason that you can disable this feature on a per-tank basis is to handle tanks which truly have unmeasured streams. Such tanks may appear to be idle because no measured flows took place, but in reality they were not idle. Therefore you must have the freedom to configure unmeasured streams and allow imbalance to be distributed to them to represent real flow that took place.

  • Service Start Date: Define the service start date of this object. This setting is available only when the Set Out of Service of Event Stream or Tank created before its Service Start Date checkbox is enabled on the Utility tab tab of the Options dialog box.
