This section describes properties on the Interface Source tab of the Options dialog box.

Interface sources

On the Interface Source tab, you can add interface source definitions such as those for an RTDB (Real Time Database), an RDB (Relational Database) and files.

Properties

The Interface source has the following main properties

  • Source Type: Type of data source. AVEVA Production Accounting supports various type of data sources.

    • RTDB: AVEVA Production Accounting uses OLE DB to access various data historians such as AVEVA PI System, INFOPLUS 21 (ASPEN Tech.), PHD (Honeywell), EXAQUANTUM (Yokogawa Electric), DATAPARC (Capstone), OPCHDA (OPC (OLE for Process Control) Historical Data Access), and WONDERWARE (Schneider Electric).

    • RDB: AVEVA Production Accounting can access most common relational databases such as Oracle, MSSQL (MS SQL Server), MSACCESS (MS Access).

    • Files: AVEVA Production Accounting supports file type data access, such as MS EXCEL (.xls), CSV (.csv), TXT (.txt).

    • XML: AVEVA Production Accounting supports loading the data and exporting the data from any historian through an XML file using the Web API interface. Local as well as XML files from the Web are supported. See Configuring Web API Interface (XML).

    • Remote control from External Program: PSEXEC (light-weight telnet-replacement that lets you execute processes on other systems, complete with full interactivity for console applications, without having to manually install client software), SSH (Secure Shell protocol is used to establish a secure connection with a server which provides a virtual terminal session for a user).

  • Source Name: Server name in the case of an RTDB data source. Data source name (DSN) in the case of an RDB data source. File path name in the case of a File data source.

  • DB Name: Domain name when the Source Type is INFOPLUS. Database name when the Source Type is MSSQL. Sheet name when Source Type is EXCEL.

Test connections

After configuring interface sources, you can check the current connection status for these interface sources by clicking the Connection Check command button.
