Create a flowsheet

In this exercise, you will draw a simple flowsheet in the drawing window by using the drawing toolbar.
When you create the flowsheet, it is recommended that you draw the balance objects first and then the stream objects.
You can choose a drawing tool and then drag and drop the appropriate objects onto the drawing window.
Objective
When finished, your simple flowsheet will look something like this.

Note A new object is created as per the settings in the General Format Property dialog box. You can specify the drawing format settings for an individual object with the Format menu.
The following procedure describes how to create a flowsheet:

Use the Process tool to create a process object in the center of the drawing.

Next, use the Tank tool to add a tank.

Add five Receipt/Shipment objects to the drawing and place them as shown.

Use the Node tool to draw five nodes and place them as shown.

Use the Stream (HVH) tool to draw the straight streams between the objects.

Use the Stream (VH) tool to draw the remaining stream connections.
You may have to reposition objects on the canvas slightly. Use the Selection tool to select items and move them.

Save the flowsheet.
