Example for Fixed Properties

Define a new fixed property for a stream (example)

  1. In the Fixed Properties section, right-click on the NO. column.

  2. Select New.

    A new row is added under Fixed Properties.

  3. In the new row, select the Property Name drop-down.

  4. Select DENSITY property.

  5. In the cell next to Tag Name, select ... button.

  6. In the Edit Tag Information dialog, select C1:H2S023.L tag for DENSITY property.

  7. Select OK.

    The tag is added.

  8. Select OK.

    The stream is updated with the property details.

The properties defined on the Design Property tab are assigned to the current events whenever they are created for the stream in question.

Assign the properties to new events

  1. Select the previously selected stream from the drawing window.

  2. Select Get Tag Data.

  3. Select Yes.

    The Get Data Information dialog appears.

  4. Select Apply.

  5. Select Yes.

  6. Select Exit.

  7. Navigate to the Design Property tab.

  8. Select the current event row.

    The property details appear in the Properties section.

    After importing the tag values from Process Historian or RDB, these property or component values are updated.

    The following process describes how to assign the values of a stream object to the associated events:

    1. Create new event for the object => initially assign the design values from static data of the object.

    2. After importing the tag values for tags related to the object => overwrite the event’s values that were based on design values with tag.
