Tracking
The Tracking tab contains options for automatic event detection and composition tracking simulation calculations.

-
Tracking Balance Type: This is the balance type for tracking simulation. If Mass balance type is selected, the tracking is simulated by the reconciled mass quantity. The default tracking balance type is Volume, and in this case the tracking is simulated by the reconciled volumetric quantity.
-
Event Detection from Tank Inventory: This is the global option for enabling and disabling automatic movement detection, which is the automatic detection of movement events from tank inventory changes, which is a prerequisite for composition tracking.
-
Minimum Movement Time Length: Minimum Movement Time Length shows the minimum tank movement time examined when performing automatic movement detection. If the duration of a detected inventory change is shorter than this, it is not considered a movement, and is ignored. This facilitates ignoring tank ripples.

-
Layer Simulation: If this option is selected, the tracking is simulated with multiple layers of tanks and streams. If this option is unchecked, the tracking is simulated with only one layer of tanks and streams. Layer simulation method provides a more accurate tracking simulation results by considering truly event based tank mixing. The detail layer simulation method is explained in the Reference Manual.
-
Update Density from Tracking: If this option is selected, when composition tracking calculates a new density that would apply to a stream or tank, the original density value is updated to the newly calculated one.
-
Minimum Percent in Product Composition: The minimum composition percentage allows for elimination of trace amounts of fluid from the analysis when their quantity becomes insignificant. If you select the minimum percent checkbox and input a value, such as 0.1%, as the minimum percent, tracking ignores composition percentages that are less than 0.1% as shown in the figure.

-
Maximum Number of Layer: If Layer Simulation option is selected, this option is effective. This option sets the maximum number of layers. If the number of layers for the tank is over this maximum number, the layer of the most minimum quantity is distributed to the adjacent layer and removed.
-
Run Data Reconciliation at Tracking: If this option is selected, run data reconciliation to make the balance of tracking model before tracking simulation.
