Configure the interface for PI

  1. Select the Tools menu.

  2. On the Tools menu, in the Edit Info group, select Interface.Info.

    The Edit Interface Information dialog appears.

  3. Right-click on No..

  4. Select New.

    A new interface is added.

  5. Enter the interface Name.

    You can configure multiple interfaces with the same Interface Source if the Interface Source is configured. See Configure the interface source for PI for more information.

  6. In the IF Source Name, enter PI_SERVER.

    Data will be obtained from PI using the PI_SERVER interface source.

  7. Select the Mode as either Import or Export.

    • Import mode imports the measured value from PI server.

    • Export mode exports the reconciled value to PI server.

      You can define tags to obtain tag values from an external data source such as Honeywell’s PHD historian or PI historian or Aspentech’s IP.21. Tags work correctly only if you define an interface to the appropriate historian.

  8. Select the In Use checkbox to use the interface to obtain data.

  9. Select Save 'In Use' Property in INI File checkbox.

  10. Select Interface Check.

    The measured value is imported from PI historian.

  11. Select OK.
