Update and Timing Considerations

Remember that changes to automatic updates may take up to 15 minutes to take effect. This is because the daemon checks the pending file every 2.5 minutes. This happens six times before the System databases and the update information are re-read. Thus, we have the possibility of a maximum delay of 15 minutes before updates are started. If necessary, this delay can be reduced by stopping and re-starting the daemon.
