Toggles Monochrome On/Off. Elements in the 3D View can be displayed in a Monochrome effect. The elements are displayed in white with the outlines of the elements in black on a white background.

The monochrome effect will only apply to the current view and any other view that shares the same drawlist. This is because the temporary changes apply to the drawlist and not to the view.
When using the monochrome effect, the active and current element color functions are same as default auto colors, which can be used to emphasis the elements being selected, when using the standard auto colors.

Any elements added to the view subsequent to a switch to Monochrome will be displayed in the default auto color or selected color and will not appear white. It can be used to great effect, where the equipment has been added after switching to monochrome.
To reset the view to it’s original colors, click Monochrome.
