Add Overlay with Specified Scale

Add an overlay to a drawing sheet with a specified scale.

  1. Select the required overlay sheet from the window and click Open

  2. You are prompted to Specify the insertion point or <Finish>

  3. Input S at the prompt or press the down arrow key and select Scale

  4. You are then prompted to Specify X scale <1>

  5. Input a value in the field and press Enter to define the scale factor for the X dimension.

    Note: A value of less than 1 decreases the width of the overlay. For example, to reduce the width of the overlay by half, input 0.5 at the prompt.

  6. You are then prompted to Specify Y scale <1>

  7. Input a value in the field and press Enter to define the scale factor for the Y dimension. The overlay is added to the drawing.

  8. You are again prompted to Specify the insertion point or <Finish>

  9. The prompt is repeated allowing you to add multiple overlays to the drawing.

  10. Input F at the prompt and press Enter to end the command.

  11. Throughout the process of adding overlays to the drawing you press ESC to cancel the command. Additional functionality is also available.

    Over

    Press the down arrow key and select Over to select a different overlay. The Open Overlay Sheet Window displays.

    Scale

    Press the down arrow key and select Scale to define a different scale factor for the overlay.

    Back

    Press the down arrow key and select Back to undo the last action.

    Finish

    Press the down arrow key and select Finish to end the command.

The new OLAY element displays in the Draw Explorer.
