Create Style Library

Creates a Style Library (STYL) at the specified location in the hierarchy.

1. The Library (LIBY) must be selected in the hierarchy to make it the CE.

   Note: Style Libraries are actually Representation Libraries (RPLB) in terms of AVEVA E3D Design Database elements.

   

   It is recommended that you give the RPLB a name that makes its contents obvious to users.

2. Click OK to display the Style Library window or Cancel to discard any changes and close the Create RPLB window.

   

3. You can change the current element by selecting the required library in the list and clicking CE.

   The upper part of the Style Library window displays the name of the current RPLB that is being used as a Style Library, and a list of all STYLs within it.

   Note: None displays in the Styles list if you have just created the RPLB.

4. To create a new STYL, click Create Style to display the Create STYL window.

   

   It is recommended that you give the STYL a name that makes its contents obvious to users.

5. Click OK to add the name to the list or Cancel to discard any changes and close the Create STYL window.

   The created STYL is highlighted as the current selection. The STYL default attribute settings display in the lower part of the Style Library window.

6. To delete a STYL from the current library, highlight it in the list and click Delete Style.

   The amount of information that displays in the Styles list is controlled by the option selected from the Display drop-down list:

   Name	Displays only the STYL name and drawing level.
   Gen	Displays the drawing level and any linestyle and colour settings applicable to general drawings.
   Pipe	Displays the drawing level and any linestyle and colour settings applicable to pipework drawings.
   Steel	Displays the drawing level and any linestyle and colour settings applicable to steelwork drawings.

7. You can set an appropriate Display mode to make it easier to find the STYL whose attributes are to be modified.

   The Draw Level text box displays the Drawing Level (DLEV) setting. The attribute restricts the display of elements using this Style to just those that include this number in their drawing level range, as set in Model.

   Note: Every primitive in the 3D model has an associated drawing level range attribute. If the drawing level given here lies within this range, the 3D object is drawn when it is added to the Drawlist.

8. Standard options of line colour and style are set explicitly by selecting system-defined settings from the colour, line-pattern and thickness drop-down lists. To select a colour from a colour palette, click Pick to display the Pick a Colour window. The functionality of the Pick a Colour window is explained. Refer to Color for further information.

9. To select a user-defined style, click Select to display, the User-defined styles window. A style table is selected and then a selection is made from the list of styles. After selecting a user defined style the check box displays a tick. You can de-select this check box to use a system defined style. The functionality of the User-defined linear styles window is explained. Refer to User-Defined Linear Styles for further information.

   The Representation Flags display the current On/Off settings for the Tube (TUBE), Piping Symbols (PSYM), Obstructions (OBST), Insulation (INSU), Profile (PRFG), P-Line (PLFG) and Centreline (CLFG) flags:

   Tube	If unchecked suppresses the display of all pipes.
   Piping Symbols	If unchecked suppresses the display of all piping symbols.
   Obstructions	If unchecked suppresses the display of all obstructions.
   Insulation	If unchecked suppresses the display of any insulation.
   Profile	Used for steelwork, if unchecked the profiles of the steelwork are suppressed.
   P-Line	Used for steelwork, if unchecked displays the steelwork stick build representation.
   Centreline	If unchecked suppresses the display of all centrelines.

10. Click Apply to define the style library settings or Cancel to discard any changes and close the Style Library window.
