Preferred Profiles

Use the Preferred Structural Profile Specifications Manager window to create a list of preferred or allowable profiles for use on a project. The window can also be used to modify the preferred list.

A Confirm window is displayed, click Yes to create a PSPWL element in the hierarchy and to display the Preferred Structural Profile Specifications Manager window.

The Preferred Structural Profile Specifications Manager window can be split into four areas:

• General

• Specifications

• Generic Types

• Profiles.

The left hand side of the Preferred Structural Profile Specifications Manager window displays all specification, GTYPE and profile entries in the database which is read only. The right hand side of the Preferred Structural Profile Specifications Manager window displays entries to be included in the list (read/write).

General

Use the Preferred Profiles Specification (PSPWL) part of the Preferred Structural Profile Specifications Manager window to add general attributes such as a name and description for the preferred profile list.

Use the remainder of the Preferred Structural Profile Specifications Manager window to add or remove specifications, generic types (GTYPE) and profiles to the current preferred profile list. The selection with or without its members are added/removed to the list.

Preferred Profile Lists for Different Work Scopes on the Same Project

Although more than one preferred profile list can be created, only one list may be used at any one time on a project. If a project has different work scopes on the same project (for example, jacket and topsides) and different preferred profile lists are required for each work scope, it is recommended that a separate Catalogue DB is created for each work scope and the relevant preferred profile list placed in each DB.

Each Catalogue DB can then be added to the appropriate MDB, allowing the correct preferred profile list to be used.
