Model Explorer

Provides an easy to use graphical method of exploring the Design Database.

The Model Explorer displays the database hierarchy. Click on an element in the tree view to navigate to the element in the database and make it the current element.

When you navigate to an element by using the command line, a graphical pick, or by any other means, the appropriate part of the tree view is expanded to display the current element.

Expand tree to display all members under the selected element.

Click on +, or Numeric keypad (+)

Collapse the tree belonging to the selected item in the hierarchy.

Click on -, or Numeric keypad (-)

Collapse current selection if it's expanded, or select owning element.

LEFT ARROW

Display current selection if it's collapsed, or select first member.

RIGHT ARROW

Display the bottom of the active window.

END

Display the top of the active window

HOME

Expand tree to display database hierarchy under the selected element.

Numeric keypad (*)

Warning: do not use this if a very large tree is expanded.

The Model Explorer has the ability to manage items in the display using the Drawlist (a separate window listing the displayed items). It can query the attributes of, rename, delete, copy and paste database elements.

The current element can be identified in the Model Explorer as the highlighted item in the tree view. The Model Explorer is displayed on entry to Model.
