Selection Tables (specifications) are general purpose tables which can be used to control the choice of components available for selection by populating the table with specific GPARTS for use in Design. Selection Tables are more commonly used with Equipment and Steelwork disciplines, refer to Equipment and Structures for further information.
The tables can be populated in the following ways:
-
Selection Criteria - uses a series of questions (column headers (TABHEA and TABHQU)) and answers (entry in table rows (TABITEM)).
-
Attributes Filters - searches the catalogue for GPARTS with matching attributes.
Note: Selection tables cannot be used in the Piping discipline, refer to Setting Specification Attributes for further information.
Selection Table Hierarchy
All database elements are owned by other elements therefore elements must be created in a strict order, refer to Hierarchy for further information.Once the administrative TABGRO (table group) element has been created, the TABGRO window is displayed. By default the window is named as per the TABGRO element, refer to Table Group for further information.
