Component Parts

Component Parts (GPART) elements are used in the catalogue to fully describe the SLH components, the GPART elements reference SLH templates and SLH component (SFIT) elements which are used by defaults and assemblies.

The GPART element has the same standard attributes as a SPCO, including CATREF, DETREF, MATXT, CMPREF and BLTREF, along with other attributes specific to the Part.

Note: The PURPOSE attribute determines what the GPART element is used for in SLH.

Parts can be added to the Selection Tables for selecting Parts in the design module, and these can be used for all disciplines except piping.

There are many different combinations of SLH catalogue component parts that can be created, because of this the PARAGON application uses a common layout for the windows that are presented to you. For the same reason this document only includes a detailed description of how to create one specific type of SLH catalogue component parts. The information can be applied to the same processes that are used to create all other types of SLH catalogue components parts.

Create SLH Part World

A SLH Part World element (PRTWLD) can only be created below a SLH Catalogue (CATA SLH) element. From the Parts part of the SLH Catalogue Tasks window, select Create to display the Create SLH Part World window.

Enter the Name to be assigned to the new SLH Part World and enter a Description (text description of the catalogue).

Click Create to create a Part World (PRTWLD) element in the database hierarchy.

Create SLH Part Area

A SLH Part Area element (PRTELE) can only be created below a SLH Catalogue (CATA SLH) element. From the Parts part of the SLH Catalogue Tasks window, select Create to display the Create SLH Part Area window.

Enter the Name to be assigned to the new SLH Part Area and enter a Description (text description of the catalogue).

Click Create to create a Part Area (PRTELE) element in the database hierarchy. The Create Part window is displayed.

Enter the Name to be assigned to the new part and enter a Description (text description of the catalogue).

From the Select Component part of the Create Part window, select a SLH template or component from the displayed list. Once the selection has been made a 3D graphical view of the selection is displayed.

Use the Stair or Step Ladder radio buttons to create a SLH Component Part for either a stair flight or a step ladder.
