Object Selection and Snap Drafting Options

Sets the default object selection, object snap, dynamic hint and anti aliasing options.

Selection Settings

Allows you to define the way in which objects are selected.

Pickbox Size

Move the slider to define the display size of the pickbox.

Grip Size

Move the slider to define the display size of the grip.

Max number of Grips

Input a value in the field to specify the maximum number of grips that can display simultaneously.

Use shift to add to selection

Select the check box to specify that holding down Shift adds or removes selected objects.

Object Snap Settings

Allows you to define the snap marker size and aperture box size. Functionality is also available to specify the Grid Settings and Object Snap settings.

Snap Marker SIze

Move the slider to define the size of the snap marker.

Aperture Box Size

Move the slider to define the size of the aperture box.

Display snap aperuture box

Select the check box to draw the snap aperture box while specifying coordinates with the mouse.

Advanced

Allows you to specify the Object Snap settings and Grid settings.

Advanced Drafting Settings

Sets the object snap settings and grid display settings.

  1. Select the Object Snap tab to specify the current sheet/view object snap settings.

    Project Snaps onto LCS

    Select the check box to specify that object snaps are projected to the working plane.

    Distance Snap

    Select the check box to specify that object snaps are projected using a specified distance.

    Enter a dimensional value in the field to define the distance.

    Object Snaps

    Select the check box to turn on snap object functionality.

    Select the check boxes on the View and Sheet/Region tabs to specify the snap point types that are available (refer to Object Snaps for further information).

    Select All

    Click to select all available snap points on the current tab.

    Clear All

    Click to de-select all available snap points on the current tab.

  2. Select the Grid Settings tab to specify the current sheet/view grid display settings. You can also define grid spacing, grid style, and ruler display settings.

    Functionality is also available to specify current sheet/view grid snap settings. You can also define snap spacing, which controls how closely the cursor adheres to the grid.

    Grid On

    Select the check box to display the grid on the current sheet/view.

    Grid Spacing

    Input dimensional values in the X and Y fields to define the grid spacing.

    Grid Snap On

    Select the check box to snap objects to the grid on the current sheet/view.

    Snap Spacing

    Input dimensional values in the X and Y fields to define the snap spacing.

    Style

    Select a grid display style from the drop-down list.

    Draw rulers

    Select the check box to display rulers when the grid displays.

  3. Click OK to apply the grid and snap settings and close the Advanced Drafting Settings window

  4. Click OK to apply the grid and snap settings or Cancel to discard any changes and close the Advanced Drafting Settings window.

Dynamic Hints Settings

  • Select the Animate dynamic hints check box to display hints with full opacity only when the you are not active (for example, you are not moving the mouse).

  • De-select the Animate dynamic hints check box to display hints at all times, regardless of your activity.

Anti-aliasing

  1. Select the Anti-aliasing check box to turn on anti-aliasing.

  2. Click Reset to restore the default configuration settings. Refer to Reset Configuration for further information.

  3. Click Apply to update the selected settings.
