Laser Data

Displays rendered Laser Survey Data (XGOEM) alongside the modelled data.

The appearance of the laser survey is inherited from a Laser Volume Representation Set (LAVOST) element which stores a list of representation style elements. Each representation element references an Area Definition (AREADE) or Demolition Package (DEMOPA) element in which the volume of laser survey is rendered. AREADE and DEMOPA elements are stored in the Design (DESI) database and cannot be modified in the DRAW application.

The drawing output containing laser survey is depth buffered with modelled elements. All modelled elements that are in front of the laser survey will obscure the survey, and all elements behind the survey will be obscured by the survey.

The first time the Laser Volumes window displays for a view, the DRAW application checks that the view references a laser volume representation set. If the view does not reference a laser volume representation set, a confirm window displays asking you to create one.

Click Yes to create a laser volume representation set. Click No to define that the view is not associated with a laser volume representation set.

The Laser Volumes window displays the area definitions and demolition packages that have been defined in MODEL. When an area definition or demolition package is selected, the selection is highlighted in the 2D or 3D view.

Select LAVOST

Allows you to modify the laser volume representation set used to define the appearance of the laser survey.

Click to display the Select Laser Volume Representation Set window.

You can browse and select the required laser volume representation set element.

Click Select to apply the selected laser volume representation set element.

Click Cancel to discard any changes and close the Select Laser Volume Representation Set window.

Detail Laser Data

Click to optimize the display resolution of the laser survey within the area definition or demolition package volume.

Repeat the command to turn off the display optimization.

Highlight Laser Data

Click to highlight detailed laser survey data within the area definition or demolition package volume.

The default highlight colour is pink and cannot be modified.

Repeat the command to remove the highlight from the detailed laser survey data volume.

Mask Laser Data

Click to remove detailed laser survey data within the area definition or demolition package volume.

Repeat the command to remove the mask from the detailed laser survey data volume.

Export and Print Resolution

Sets the laser survey final output quality.

The export/print resolution can be modified to alter the output using the Properties window. Refer to Properties for further information.

Laser Drawing Resolution (dpi)

The dots per inch (dpi) resolution defines the amount of dots that are printed/exported on the output drawing per square inch.

Input a value in the field to modify the dpi resolution for laser survey.

For example, input 50 in the field to print/export at 50 dpi. The laser survey display is less detailed and solid (background model elements are not visible). Input 600 in the field to print/export at 600 dpi. The laser survey display is more detailed and translucent (background model elements are visible).
