Create Grid Ruler

Adds a grid ruler to an orthogonal view.

  1. Alternatively, you can input the command GRIDRULER.

  2. You are prompted to Select view

    Note: The prompt does not display if a view is already selected.

  3. Click to identify the view, a preview of the ruler displays. Move the cursor from the top of the frame downwards to create a horizontal ruler or from the left of the frame inwards to create a vertical ruler.

  4. You are prompted to Specify insertion point or

  5. Input values in the dimension fields and press Enter or click to identify the position of the ruler. The ruler is created.

  6. Throughout the ruler creation process you can press ESC to cancel the command. Additional functionality is also available.

    Grid

    Press the down arrow key and select Grid to modify the ruler association with a grid.

    You are prompted to Enter grid name

    Input the name of the grid in the field to associate with the ruler.

    Centre line

    Press the down arrow key and select Centre line to create a ruler at the centre line of the view. Refer to Create Centre Line Ruler for further information.

    Base line

    Press the down arrow key and select Base line to create a ruler at the base line of the view. Refer to Create Base Line Ruler for further information.

The new GRDRLR element displays in the Draw Explorer.
