The Symbol Template (SYTM) element is used as a template for Special Label (SLAB) and Symbol (SYMB) elements. The template constraints can be defined for SYTM elements.

The Template property for the currently selected SLAB element indicates the location of the SYTM element.

Select the SYTM on the Draw Explorer, right click to display the menu and select Open.

The template constraints can be modified using the Properties window. Refer to Common Functionality User Guide for further information.

Allowed Quadrants

Select the required check boxes from the drop-down list to define the available attachment points for annotation connection lines.

The calculation is based on the attachment direction of the connection line and can be a combination of any of the following: Top right, Top left, Bottom left, Bottom right. At least one quadrant must be selected.

The example displays how the AVEVA E3D Whitespace Optimizer functionality can be used to automatically reposition multiple annotations that have assigned connection line attachment point quadrants.
