Create Linear Dimensions

Creates intelligent linear dimensions to dimensioning standards.

• Dimensions are calculated directly from the 3D model. The format, content and appearance of the dimensions can be controlled.

• Direct reference to the design data means that the annotation always reflects the current state of the 3D model, with a simple update annotation operation.

• Once the dimensions are created, the position and orientation can be adjusted graphically.

Orthogonal Dimensions

Creates orthogonal linear dimensions on the 3D view.

1. You are prompted to pick the First extension line origin

   Input values in the dimension fields and press Enter or click to identify the point to measure from.

2. You are then prompted to pick the Second extension line origin

3. Input values in the dimension fields and press Enter or click to identify the first point to measure to.

4. You are then prompted to pick the Dimension orientation or

   

   Input values in the dimension fields and press Enter or click to identify the position of the dimension line.

5. You are then prompted to Next point or <Finish>

6. The prompt is repeated, allowing you to create multiple orthogonal dimensions.

   Input F at the prompt and press Enter to end the command.

7. Throughout the creation process you can press ESC to cancel the command.

Aligned Dimensions

Creates intelligent aligned dimensions to dimensioning standards.

8. You are prompted to pick the First extension line origin

   Input values in the dimension fields and press Enter or click to identify the point to measure from.

9. You are then prompted to Second extension line origin

   Input values in the dimension fields and press Enter or click to identify the first point to measure to.

10. You are then prompted to Dimension orientation or

    

    Input values in the dimension fields and press Enter or click to identify the position of the dimension line.

11. You are then prompted to Next point or <Finish>

12. The prompt is repeated, allowing you to create multiple aligned dimensions.

    Input F at the prompt and press Enter to end the command.

13. Throughout the creation process you can press ESC to cancel the command.
