External access security

The inter-process communication settings for both AVEVA Process Simulation and AVEVA Real-Time System (RTS) are configured such that you cannot externally access the software. AVEVA Process Simulation uses named-pipes, which are internal by default. RTS uses TCP via gRPC, on localhost, so only processes within the same systems can interact. Therefore, you do not need to add any port access permissions to a firewall because they are not accessible externally.
However, you can remotely access RTS Console. See Remotely access the RTS Console for more information.
