AVEVA Unified Engineering

You can now establish a connection from AVEVA Process Simulation to AVEVA Engineering by either signing in with a CONNECT account or connecting with a CONNECT service token.

You can now configure the connection settings to establish a connection from AVEVA Process Simulation to AVEVA Engineering by using one of the following methods:

• Connect to AVEVA Engineering through a CONNECT account.

• Connect to AVEVA Engineering with a CONNECT service token that is saved in the Credential Manager on your computer.

• Connect to AVEVA Engineering with a local data store URL that you set up during the local AVEVA Engineering configuration with AVEVA Integration Service on your computer.

AVEVA Unified Engineering: External documentation

In the "AVEVA Engineering" section of the AVEVA Process Simulation Simulation Building Guide, we have included links to the documentation for AVEVA Unified Engineering, AVEVA Engineering, and AVEVA Integration Service products that are hosted on the AVEVA Documentation portal (https://docs.aveva.com/). You can review the documentation if you are interested in learning how to use these products, which are part of the AVEVA Unified Engineering solution data connection.

The AVEVA Process Simulation team does not control the documentation for AVEVA Unified Engineering, AVEVA Engineering, AVEVA Integration Service, or AVEVA Gateway for Process Simulation. If you have any questions about the documentation for these products, we will support you to the best of our ability. However, we may need to coordinate with the respective product support teams, which can require additional time. Please plan accordingly.

AVEVA Unified Engineering: Snapshots

When AVEVA Process Simulation is connected to AVEVA Engineering, you can now process AVEVA Engineering notifications that you receive to create AVEVA Engineering-based snapshots to use for your simulations.

Previously, you could create only a single snapshot by using data from AVEVA Engineering. With this update, you can now manage multiple snapshots across various cases as defined by AVEVA Engineering, which provides greater flexibility and improved scenario workflow.

CONNECT

In AVEVA Process Simulation, the App bar on the top-right corner of the user interface now contains a User profile button. You can select the User profile button to sign into a CONNECT account. You can then establish the connection between AVEVA Process Simulation and AVEVA Engineering.

Currently, signing into your CONNECT account only verifies the connection to CONNECT services. This is a stepwise feature that we plan to improve in the future to extend the CONNECT services that are available from AVEVA Process Simulation.
