Configure the AVEVA Process Simulation to AVEVA Engineering connection

In AVEVA Process Simulation, you can configure the settings to establish a connection to AVEVA Engineering by using one of the following methods:

Connect to AVEVA Engineering through a CONNECT account.

Connect to AVEVA Engineering with a CONNECT service token that is saved in the Credential Manager on your computer.

Connect to AVEVA Engineering with a local data store URL set up during the local AVEVA Engineering configuration with AVEVA Integration Service on your computer.
Note: Contact your AVEVA Process Simulation sales representative for assistance if you need a CONNECT account or a CONNECT service token.
AVEVA Process Simulation to AVEVA Engineering connection prerequisites
Before you can start the AVEVA Process Simulation to AVEVA Engineering configuration, you must first configure AVEVA Process Simulation and AVEVA Engineering to AVEVA Integration Service. These configurations include the following selections:

Select an AVEVA Engineering project.

Create an AVEVA Process Simulation configuration.

Enter an AVEVA Engineering data source name.

You must also have AVEVA Gateway for Process Simulation installed on your computer to establish a successful connection to AVEVA Engineering. You can find the latest version of AVEVA Gateway for Process Simulation and its support documentation on the AVEVA Knowledge & Support Center (https://softwaresupport.aveva.com/), on the Products page.
Configure the AVEVA Process Simulation to AVEVA Engineering connection settings

In AVEVA Process Simulation, select the AVEVA™ Engineering tab.

In the Connection group, select Configure Settings for AVEVA Engineering
.
The AVEVA Configuration window appears.

From the AVEVA Engineering Settings section, do the following:

In Project Name, enter the AVEVA Engineering project name that you selected in the Integration Settings Editor during the AVEVA Engineering configuration with AVEVA Integration Service.

In AVEVA Process Simulation Data Source, enter the name of the AVEVA Process Simulation configuration you created in AVEVA Integration Service. You can find the AVEVA Process Simulation configuration in the AVEVA Integration Service Integrations Settings Editor with AVEVA Process Simulation selected in the Select Product list.

In AVEVA Engineering Data Source, enter the AVEVA Engineering data source name that you created in the Integration Settings Editor during the AVEVA Engineering configuration with AVEVA Integration Service.

From the Connectivity section, in the Server Connection list, select a server connection type:

CONNECT: Connect to AVEVA Engineering through a CONNECT account.

CONNECT with Service Token: Connect to AVEVA Engineering with a CONNECT service token installed on your computer. If you select CONNECT with Service Token, a Service Token box appears.

Private Deployment (NTLM): Connect to AVEVA Engineering with a local data store URL set up from the local AVEVA Engineering configuration with AVEVA Integration Service on your computer. If you select Private Deployment (NTLM), a Service Location box appears.

If you selected CONNECT in the Server Connection list, do the following:

Select Connect.
A CONNECT sign in window appears.

In the CONNECT sign in window, enter your CONNECT account credentials.

If you are not currently signed into a CONNECT account from AVEVA Process Simulation, you also need to select a CONNECT account to sign into. See Sign into a CONNECT account for more information.

If you selected CONNECT with Solution Token in the Server Connection list, do the following:

In the Service Token box, enter the CONNECT service token name.

Select Connect.

If you selected Private Deployment (NTLM) in the Server Connection list, do the following:

In the Service Location box, enter the data store URL that was entered during the AVEVA Engineering configuration with AVEVA Integration Service.

You can find the data store URL in the AVEVA Integration Service Web Administration application, which is displayed in the Service Status page under DatastoreAPI URL. This URL is where AVEVA Integration Service is currently running on your computer.
Note: Refer to Web Administration of Data Source - Web Admin in the AVEVA Integration Service documentation for more information on how to open and navigate the AVEVA Integration Service web administrator application.

Select Connect.

If the AVEVA Process Simulation connection to AVEVA Engineering is a success, in the
Connection group, Connect / Disconnect to AVEVA Engineering
turns green. You also cannot change your configuration in the AVEVA Configuration window, as your configuration is locked-in for the connection until you disconnect
it.
If the AVEVA Process Simulation connection to AVEVA Engineering is not successful, Connect / Disconnect to AVEVA Engineering
turns red and a red badge
appears next to the AVEVA™ Engineering tab name. You can hover over Connect / Disconnect to AVEVA Engineering
to display the tooltip and see where the failure is present. Update your configuration
in the AVEVA Configuration window, and then try to connect to AVEVA Engineering again.
